Our Mandate

The South Shuswap Chamber is a non-profit organization made up of businesses, professionals and community groups.  We are a vehicle for action through which businesses can work together for the overall good of the communities we serve, which include Balmoral, Blind Bay, Carlin, Eagle Bay, Notch Hill , Skimikin, Sorrento, Sunnybrae, Squilax , Tappen, White Lake and Wild Rose Bay.  A valuable benefit of being a member of the South Shuswap Chamber of Commerce is the opportunity to meet and network with other business people in the community, and gain greater local exposure for your company.

We promote the region's historical character, its culture and diversity while embracing economic prosperity and innovation as key components to the quality of life enjoyed by all.

We act as an information centre,  providing information to the many tourists about our local businesses and encourage  them to use the services provided by our community.

Through our activities we attempt to bring the community together and foster good relationships between the businesses and the people of the community making it a  better place to work, live, and play.

There's plenty to do here. Swimming, boating, fishing or waterskiing on our beautiful lake. Golf at first-class golf courses, play in one of the many local parks, purchase local produce from a Farmers Market, hike in the surrounding mountains, go for a walk on some exceptional trails. Winter activities abound in the South Shuswap due to our moderate climate, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, and great ice fishing. Of course you can do nothing at all; the Shuswap was made for relaxing. The area is home to artists, organic farms, an organic brewery, and award-winning wineries.
